Why sky married the earth!
Plain.Plain, clear, complete blue with hints of white.
Dark.Dark, muddy, incomplete brown with more than a hint of black.
Up, above, rise and fly, like the sky, we heard, she soars high.
Down, below, dust and dry, like the ground, we also heard, for he settled low and lie.
Then why did they marry, you may ask, 'Why'?
Laugh, scoff at the proud sky, but care to ask, 'Why?'
Smirk, chuckle, you may, but do ask, 'Why?'
Ask, do not ignore but please wonder 'Why?'
For it was on that day, when the night marred her jolly.
Shattered her trust for even the dreadful sun hid behind the ferocious black demons.
Plain, clear, complete blue, she was then,
But deep, dark, bleak and vicious black she was now.
Someone, somebody, something had suddenly struck her...
With a flash thin flickering light it crackled and thundered with a hint of blue.
Left no trace but a scar, brute and blunt.
She had been hurt.
Hurt by someone,somebody,something,
Struck by a chord; broken, shaken, stunned!
Like an endless run, her tears flowed.
In a life, that was already a corpse,
drops of pain hindered with no tinge or colour to decipher.
Silence of wails grew louder, but beads of cries drew no one.
But there was this earth, the very dirty, muddy, brown by birth,
Calmly seeping her tears, he nurtured her troubles.
He absorbed her pain, comforted her discomfort;
And gave her tears, the life of plants and flowers.
The loathsome brown earth managed to listen, bear and smile,
When everyone failed.
This was a selfless tale, as the sky prudently realised
And married her without wasting a day.
Epilogue:
The soulmates might not seem like soulmates. Two lovers may not enjoy the best of conversations at all times but that does not stop them from loving each other. We all have an idea of an ideal lover. Most of the times there is no agreement with the ideal love that we presume and the ideal love that we get but the secret of life is to love freely till the end of your life. Its through this process that you meet someone who loves you like you could love her back. It a long struggle but a worthy effort!
