Stop YOU!

For me, will share yet you will not feel, Absurd, yet a release of pain clotted, do you care to see? O my lovers, I ask also thee , you saw me grow up, do you not ask once? Rejected physically, mentally; Drained emotionally, will she ask, won't she, but who? Are you constant with your problems, asks Smit to him, the one who feels for all, falls for all. Changed are your verses, rhymes and your lovers, could you ever be distinct? haaa, he doesnt answer, as always leaves a blemish, but releases the flow amid those scribes.. Silence follows....

PM meets TMC-DMK over FDI

Image
In its bid to save itself from losing out on votes for the adjournment motion, Manmohan Singh tried to cajole Trinamool Congress and the DMK to support its decision to 51% FDI in multi brand retail and 100% FDI in single brand retail in a closed quarters meeting in capital New Delhi. The meeting with the two parties comes as a result of the voiced disapproval from both the parties on participation of the FDI in the retail sector. The Parliament sessions, too have been unproductive for the past five days following the vociferous slogans from several parties against the decision. The meeting with the top brass leaders of TNC and DMK was held to convince the allied parties to abstain from voting, if it did not wish to support it. If the Congress has its way then, there is a good chance that it will win the motion.  The Government, having worked out its calculations, has dared the opposition to go on a no-confidence motion to show its confidence in winning the votes. The mai...

ROAM AROUND, CAMP AND A CIRCUS- THAT’S CAMPUS!

Image
Its 3 am in the morning. The whispers of wind are apparent enough. Nothing unusual about them. For the past two years at Symbiosis, they have been passing through my hostel gates, along the roads, classrooms and our hostel rooms. But, this was the air of melancholy. Today was the last day I would be living as the Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communications student. What was it that was missing? Placed, yes; going back home happy, true; then what the hell was missing? I stepped out of the room, wearing my track suit, the one which I earned following my selection in the cricket team of Symbiosis. I decided to take the journey to my campus, the one that I had walked endlessly on for various reasons. It was wistful reminder of the silent, stupid, happy nostalgic moments that I had shared along the roads. As I passed the cricket ground, it brought memories of the injuries that I shared on the ground and the subsequent limping towards the medical center for relisprays and pai...

Attitude, not just Jan Lokpal

Image
All this talk of the Jan Lokpal Bill capable of eradicating corruption seems ludicrous. It is easy to initiate a change in the system but difficult to adopt it. Even if Anna Hazare succeeds in bringing the Lokpal Bill into the force, it is difficult to expect too much from it. Especially, in a country like India where the government is run by a mute President, an equally silent Prime Minister and his Council of ministers who are nothing but a pack of cards governed by the Gandhis. Corruption, since long, has been instrumental in destroying the functioning mechanism of a country. Needless to say, it is a disease and the Lokpal bill with all its benefits seems weak to counter it. Interestingly, the problem, in this case, is not the Bill but the mindsets of the people. Despite having elections at regular intervals, one rarely knows the person who is contesting in his ward. By voting for the same party for years, it seems, as though, each person is carrying his legacy. Although, n...

BSE sensex hits bottom

Image
The Sensex fell by two hundred points amid growing speculations of further fall in the volatile market. Starting at a score of 16362 points, it was close to 16162 at the end of the day. The abrupt fall has further increased the worries of the seasonal investors who are still reeling under the recession wave. Road to Perdition? The recent years have witnessed a disappointing trend in the market with high variations at low intervals. The market, once known to hit the 20000 mark with vigor and vision had lost 702 points about a year and months ago. This is the second steepest fall in the recent months. The sudden fall has also been blamed at the decrease in the value of the rupee which sadly stands at Rs.49.90 against the dollar, making it one of the worst performers in the Asia’s most traded currencies. The continued degradation in the European markets coupled with the snail paced growth of the US market has already caused a major concern over the Indian financial cl...

Life beyond living!

Image
Eyes, they failed to meet the seen, Smile, that faded for they lacked the feel, Love, a question that hounded for an answer, a mystery! Words, a conquest won by the business interests over hearty feelings, Life,  remained  on Facebook, yet a book devoid of real faces,                                             All of it, a Routine; a root with a route in search for the lost water,                           Maybe, for that Beauty, he expressed to all, yet couldn't name one, Aroused and confused, he saw them in his dreams and fantasized to the hilt, Yet, remained pure for, not a skin, he touched although blamed. Bruised,at times and vented back with vengeance yet a mi...

Do not please EVERYone!

Image
Most of the professionals spend a better part of their life walking on an eggshell while suppressing a part of their personality by being diplomatic to impress everyone. It is ludicrous to satisfy anybody and everybody. The idea, itself is wrong for the obvious reason that one can never please everybody and if one does, he is responsible for displeasing himself.   The insane activity has taken a mass movement in corporate sector, especially in a field like marketing. While it is important to please somebody, to surrender your views in fear of disapproval is being dishonest to your job. Marketing professionals often are afraid to suggest a strategy or put forth a support to a particular proposal in fear of being rejected. A beautiful quote by a celebrated comedian, Bill Cosby, duly explains the concept, “I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.” The key to a successful strategy of a sale lies in intensive discussions and a...
